WHEELERSBURG — All Maddie Gill does is win … literally.
Gill finished the regular season undefeated last week with her 11th singles win. In the only time she didn’t play singles, her and her partner won the match in doubles action.
And, more recently, she won the SOC singles title and was named the SOC Player of the Year. The senior won SOC doubles championships in each of her first three seasons.
For her efforts, Gill is SOSA’s 25th overall SOC Athlete of the Week, presented by The UPS Store.
Out of 1,387 public votes, Northwest’s Brayden Campbell won the popular vote, accounting for exactly 395 or 28.5 percent of the total. Gill finished second in the voting with 370, Minford’s Ally Coriell was third with a count of 244, New Boston’s Tanner Voiers was fourth at 198, and East’s Leviticus Justice was fifth at 180.
Gill received three of the four votes from the guys at SOSA to win the award.
For her efforts, Gill will receive a free t-shirt from The UPS Store, as well as meal coupons from the Schmidt Family Restaurant Group.
