SOUTH POINT — The District 13 Coaches Association has released its all-district boys basketball teams and multiple familiar names headline the list.
Fairland’s Brody Buchanan was tabbed as the Division V Player of the Year while Symmes Valley’s Ethan Smith earned the honor in Division VI/VII.
Buchanan led the Dragons to 21 wins, while averaging 19.3 points and 4.3 assists. Smith put up 23.5 points and 4.3 rebounds for the 15-win Vikings.
Here’s a look at the rest of the all-district selections within SOSA’s coverage umbrella.
DIVISION II/III/IV
On the Division II/III/IV first-team list is Meigs’ Carson Davis and Reed Brinager, Jackson’s Bodhi Wolford, Marietta’s Junior Bass and Vinton County’s Cobra Sharp.
On the second-team list is Gallia Academy’s Cade Mock, Athens’ Leo Martin and Jackson’s Stephen Jenkins.
Honorable mention honors were earned by Meigs’ Owen Tracy and Dustin Vance, Jackson’s Charlie Woodard and Ryan Seimetz, Logan’s Hudson Edwards and Owen Bell, Gallia Academy’s Ty Reed and Vinton County’s Hayden Reynolds.
Meigs coach Ryan Davis is the Division II/III/IV District 14 Coach of the Year.
Warren’s Juilan Stadelman is the Division’s Player of the Year.
DIVISION V
Alongside Buchanan on the first-team list in Division V is Ironton’s Braden Schreck, Chesapeake’s Maddox Kazee, Coal Grove’s Owen Johnson, South Point’s Brayden Hanshaw and Nelsonville-York’s Alec Thompson.
On the second-team list is Chesapeake’s Kaden Perkins, Fairland’s Cliff Fransen, Wellston’s Wes Briggs, Oak Hill’s Colben Beucler, River Valley’s Braden Bennett and Nelsonville-York’s Briant Call.
The honorable mention list is highlighted by Fairland’s Keegan Smith, Alexander’s Mason Morris, Ironton’s Ashton Layne, South Point’s Ethan Layne, Coal Grove’s Cody Harmon and Chesapeake’s Karson Frecka.
Fairland coach Nathan Speed has been named the Division V District 14 Coach of the Year.
DIVISION VI/VII
Alongside Smith on the first-team list Division VI is Southern’s Andre Chandler, Reedsville Eastern’s Colton Lloyd, Miller’s Logan Doughty, Rock Hill’s Kelan Davidson and Ironton St. Joe’s Wesley Neal.
On the second-team list is Federal Hocking’s Cameron Joy, Trimble’s Brady Jajczyk, Belpre’s Chris Copen, Waterford’s Finn Pennock and South Gallia’s Carson Stowers.
The honorable mention list is comprised of South Gallia’s Caleb Frazee, Symmes Valley’s Bronx Carpenter and Will Jones, Rock Hill’s Rylan Barker, Belpre’s Nasaih Spencer, Ironton St. Joe’s Landon Rowe and Aiden DeBord, Waterford’s Gavin Hiener and Cole Sparling-Ponchak, Southern’s Landon Everson and Federal Hocking’s Wren Ballew.
Southern coach Jeff Caldwell is the Division VI/VII Coach of the Year.
