*Brittani played imperative roles for both Wheelersburg’s SOC II title-winning soccer and basketball programs this year. She would’ve also filled a huge role for this spring’s softball team. She has signed to play college softball at Shawnee State University. This is a letter from her to her coaches and teammates.
To everyone who has influenced and impacted me in any way to get to where I am now, not only athletically, but mentally, I want to say thank you.
No words will ever describe how grateful I am for the people I have come in contact with throughout my years of growing up playing the game I love.
If it was not for the coaches and teammates that have constantly pushed me to the best of my ability, I would not have been as successful through my high school and travel softball careers.
The past three years at Minford were filled with some of my favorite memories playing alongside my best friends and I will cherish those forever. Starting with my decision to transfer to Wheelersburg this past summer, I was looking forward to the spring and for all of the great things I knew this team could achieve.
After winning two conference titles with the soccer and basketball teams, I was excited to compete for a third. From the day we could start practicing, to the last practice together with all of the team and the coaches, everyone made me feel welcome.
The coaching staff at Wheelersburg was so encouraging, as well as always positively critiquing our abilities to make us better. The energy from the practices was something I wish all teams could experience.
I am so thankful for the time that I got with these girls and I wish we could be on the field together competing for something bigger than ourselves.
I will always look back on the spring of my senior year and imagine the final season we never got to experience.
