COLUMBUS — Before the season started, all eyes were on Jackson’s Nolan Johnson.

He was replacing a first-team All-Ohioan in Cade Wolford, who is now at Kent State University, in the backfield. He had just committed to playing at Army University, and it was his chance to show what he was capable of with a full workload.

What followed was a nine-win season for the Ironmen as Johnson ran for 1,497 yards and 17 touchdowns. The awards began to rack up quickly for the senior back.

It started with an FAC Player of the Year honr, followed by the Division III District Offensive Player of the Year selection. Now, he can add first-team All-Ohio to his resume.

His teammate, Jake Allen, has been named second-team All-Ohio alongside Athens’ Leo Martin and Seth Hart.

Martin hauled in 41 catches for 780 yards and 14 touchdowns, while Hart was named the TVC Defensive Player of the Year after racking up 128 tackles, 17 for loss, and 7 1/2 sacks for the 10-win Bulldogs.

Miami Trace’s Trey Robinette earned third-team honors after guiding the Panthers to seven wins, passing for 1,577 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Making honorable mention was Jackson’s Bodhi Wolford, Ryan Taylor, Tucker Williams and Ryan Seimetz, Miami Trace’s Cooper Enochs, Jayden Jones and Brady Sheets, Circleville’s Hudson Phalin and Drew Thornsley, Athens’ Alex Pero and Brady Wharton, Hillsboro’s Jamar Young and Zack Brown and Chillicothe’s Cartae Ligon.
