Piketon’s Wilson, Unioto’s Cutright headline all-SVC football teams

The SVC released its all-league football teams on Saturday morning.

CHILLICOTHE — The Scioto Valley Conference has released its all-league football honors and two talented names headline the list.

Piketon’s Buddy Wilson has been named the league’s Offensive Back of the Year while Unioto’s Caden Cutright has earned Defensive Back of the Year honors.

Wilson had a magnificent year, helping his Redstreaks finish 7-4 and earn a playoff berth. During the regular season, the senior rushed for 1,085 yards and 14 touchdowns on just 123 carries — an average of 8.8 yards per tote.

Meanwhile, Cutright ends his career as Unioto’s all-time leader in interceptions with 15. This fall, he picked off seven passes and broke up eight more while helping the Shermans finish 9-2 and earn a playoff berth of their own.

Defensive Lineman of the Year honors were shared by Unioto’s Marcel James and Paint Valley’s Caleb Saunders, Zane Trace’s Evan Brower earned the Offensive Lineman of the Year accolade, and Zane Trace’s Aaden Dunn is the Special Teams Player of the Year.

Unioto’s Matt Hoops is the SVC’s Coach of the Year for the second straight season after his Tanks won their second consecutive Gold Ball.

Also earning first-team all-SVC honors is Unioto’s Blake Hoops, Ben Griffin, Cody Braden, Bryce Jarvis, David Long and Isaac Coy, Zane Trace’s Silas Stewart, Coen Larson, Hudson Williams and Blake Brower, Piketon’s Nathaniel Shrum, Mason Thacker, Treven Shanks and Luke Gullion, Paint Valley’s Braylon Robertson, Carson Free and Gage Wagner, Westfall’s Jaden Towler, Joey Wright and Mason Halderman, Huntington’s Kayden Curtiss, Isaac Taylor and Frankie Hirsch, Adena’s Austin Magill and Fisher Schaaf, and Southeastern’s Gage Cheadle and Jacob Sheets.
