JACKSON — The Frontier Athletic Conference released its all-league baseball teams on Friday morning and one of the area’s best all-around talents was recognized as the Player of the Year.

Jackson junior Gaven Jones earned the honor after helping his Ironmen win a third championship in the past four seasons — the first outright at 9-0.

In the Ironmen’ title-clinching win over Miami Trace, Jones fanned 13 hitters in a complete game effort. But that was just the latest extravagant outing in a string of dominant performances.

Jones and teammates now sit at 19-4 overall and await the winner of Marietta and River Valley in a Division II sectional final.

Joining Jones with all-FAC honors are a slew of teammates in Boston Campbell, Noah Ernst and Nolan Johnson. Those four are joined by Chillicothe’s Mason Brown, Miami Trace’s Cooper Enochs and Brady Armstrong, Washington’s Evan Lynch, Will Miller and John Wall, and McClain’s Kaden Penwell.
