Waverly 64, Zane Trace 43
The Tigers (4-1) earned a bounceback victory on the road Saturday morning with a 21-point decision over Zane Trace.
Carli Knight led Waverly with 18 points and three steals while Zoiee Smith had 14 points, seven assists, five rebounds and two steals. Paige Carter also helped out with seven points, nine boards and five assists.
Leading Zane Trace (0-6) was Gracey McCullough with 16 points while Lauren Lane had 12.

Behind another strong performance from Abby Cochenour, Eastern (1-5) earned its first win this season with a 16-point victory over Piketon.
Cochenour scored a game-high 32 points in the win while Andee Lester and Addison Cochenour added 11 and 10, respectively.
Piketon (3-4) was led by Bailey Vulgamore’s 12 points while Kennedy Jenkins had 11.

The Cavaliers (3-4, 3-1 FAC) forced a three-way tie atop the Frontier Athletic Conference standings with an eight-point victory over McClain Saturday.
Leading Chillicothe in the win was Shawnice Smith with 16 points while Jacey Harding finished with 11 points, including two 3-point field goals.
For McClain (5-2, 3-1 FAC), Emma Stegbauer had eight points while Jaelyn Pitzer added seven.

The Panthers (6-2) scored an impressive non-conference win Saturday, beating Coal Grove after holding onto a late lead.
Skylar Hice enjoyed a big night, scoring 22 points and bringing down seven rebounds while Macie Graves had 11 points, five boards and two assists. Cidney Huff was also active, scoring seven points and grabbing seven rebounds.

The Warriors (3-1, 2-0 SVC) earned their second conference win in as many tries Saturday evening, beating Westfall by a 15-point margin.
Logan Bennett led the way with 25 points and 12 rebounds while Cade Mckee had 15 points, including five 3-point field goals. Preston Sykes also helped out, scoring 11 points.

The Panthers (1-3, 1-1 SVC) earned their first win this season with a narrow two-point margin over visiting Paint Valley.
Southeastern was led by Cameron Hall’s 12 points while Aiden Estep had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Aaron Gillum also helped SE’s cause, scoring 11.
For Paint Valley (1-4, 0-2 SVC), Bryce Newland scored 11 points while Cordell Grubb and Cruz McFadden had nine points each.
From the floor, Southeastern shot 21-of-38 while hitting 14-of-21 from the free throw line. Paint Valley was 20-of-45 from the field while they converted on 6-of-13 free throw tries.
Unioto 44, Piketon 34
The Shermans (4-0, 2-0 SVC) stayed atop the conference standings with a 10-point win over the Redstreaks on the road.
Unioto was led by Reece Wheeler’s 12 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks while Isaac Little had 12 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals.
For Piketon (3-4, 1-1 SVC), both Chris Chandler and Tre Swayne had 10 points while Chandler connected for two triples.

Four different players reached double-digit scoring figures for Zane Trace (6-0, 2-0 SVC) Saturday night in a whipping of Huntington.
The Pioneers were led by Nick Nesser’s 22 points and 10 rebounds while Cam Evans added 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Bryce Johnson also helped with 16 points while Luke Johnson had 10 of his own.

Jackson 78, Sissonville (W. Va.) 35
The Ironmen (5-0) kept a goose egg in the loss column while walloping Sissonville in a non-conference bout at the University of Rio Grande.
Caleb Wallis led Jackson with 25 points while Boston Kuhn had 21, including five 3-point field goals.
