Unioto’s Hoops, PV’s Robertson headline all-SVC football teams

The SVC released its all-league football teams on Tuesday morning.

CHILLICOTHE — The Scioto Valley Conference has released its all-league football honors and two talented names headline the list.

Unioto’s Newton Hoops has been named the league’s Offensive Back of the Year while Paint Valley’s Braylon Robertson has earned Defensive Back of the Year honors.

Hoops had a historic season, leading the Shermans to their first Gold Ball since 1981 while breaking nearly every passing record in the books. He threw for 2,562 yards and 32 touchdowns while completing 62.7 percent of his attempts.

Meanwhile, Robertson helped his Bearcats earn a playoff spot, and win, with 2,025 rushing yards alongside 32 touchdowns. He’s also tallied over 100 tackles.

Unioto’s Jordan Perkins is the SVC’s co-Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Defensive Lineman of the Year honors were earned by Zane Trace’s Spencer Brower, Unioto’s Jordan Perkins and Paint Valley’s Peyton Bell earned co-Offensive Lineman of the Year accolades, and Unioto’s Ashton Crace was the Special Teams Player of the Year.

Unioto’s Matt Hoops is the SVC’s Coach of the Year after his Tanks finished 9-2.

Also earning first-team all-SVC honors is Unioto’s Will Fleck, Ethan Summar, Blake Hoops, KB Perkins and Caden Cutright, Zane Trace’s Blake Phillips, Riley Hartsaugh, JT Jenkins, Silas Stewart and Aaden Dunn, Paint Valley’s Carson Free, Hunter Freeman and Colton Yoakum, Westfall’s Bryce Wickline, Trent Walters, Tanner Scheel and Nate Smith, Piketon’s Gabe Lamerson, Zane Brownfield and Buddy Wilson, Adena’s Austin Magill, Jackson Hicks and Lucas King, Huntington’s Noah Potter and DJ Crocker, and Southeastern’s Joey Pfeifer and Gage Cheadle.
