The District 14 Coaches Association released its all-district volleyball honors on Monday and a familiar trio headlined the list.
Circleville’s Morgan Blakeman, South Webster’s Bella Claxon and Notre Dame’s Annie Dettwiller have each earned Player of the Year honors in their respective divisions.
Blakeman, the Division II POY, has led Circleville to a 20-3 mark with a team-high 372 kills and 40 aces alongside 378 digs. She passed both the 1,000 career kill and dig marks this fall.
Claxon is the Division III POY and helped her Jeeps capture a share of the SOC II title with 170 kills, 83 aces, 21 blocks, 248 digs and 727 assists. She has her team entering a tournament run at 21-2.
Meanwhile, in Division IV, Dettwiller is the POY after aiding her team to yet another outright SOC I crown. She’s totaled 226 kills, 33 blocks, 29 aces and 296 digs.
Here’s a look at all of the all-district volleyball selections.
DIVISIONS I & II
Blakeman is joined by teammate Cara Cooper on the district’s first-team list while Miami Trace’s Addyson Butts, Farifield Union’s Christian Thompson, Unioto’s Sophie Coleman and Waverly’s Kelli Stewart round out the slate.
Second-team selections are Miami Trace’s Gracey Ferguson, Logan Elm’s Claire King and Lynsay Vanhoose, Unioto’s Ella Cutright, Chillicothe’s Elizabeth Henson and Circleville’s Gabby McConnell.
Honorable mention honorees are as follows: Chillicothe’s Olivia Beatty and Avery Cox, Waverly’s Izzy Smith, Hillsboro’s Cora Akers, McClain’s Lily Barnes, and Unioto’s Jade Stewart.
The Division I & II Coach of the Year is Circleville’s Danielle Perkins.
DIVISION III
Adena’s pair of Sydney Foglesong and Hannah Burns lead the Division III first-team selections and are joined by Wheelersburg’s Makenna Walker, Zane Trace’s Lexi Scott and North Adams’ Keetyn Hupp.
Second-team selections are Southeastern’s Jozy Lougheed, Wheelersburg’s Madie Mays, Zane Trace’s Gracey McCullough, Huntington’s Emma Hinshaw, West’s Maelynn Howell and Emma Sayre, and Peebles’ Summer Bird.
South Webster’s Addison Claxon, Paint Valley’s Averi McFadden, Minford’s Kynedi Davis, Westfall’s Lauryn Blackburn and Southeastern’s Gracee Pfeifer are third-team honorees.
Honorable mention honorees are as follows: South Webster’s Skylar Zimmerman and Natalie Adkins, Wheelersburg’s Lexie Rucker and Kiera Kennard, Zane Trace’s Kinley May, Adena’s Brooke Bossert, North Adams’ Katelynn Boerger, Peebles’ Darby Mills, Caydence Carroll and Ellie Stephens, West Union’s Audrey Weakley, Northwest’s Faith Jewett and Karleigh South, Valley’s Addy Conway and Lexie Morrow, Portsmouth’s Kennedy Bowling, Eastern Brown’s Sarah Clark and Emily Mullins, Southeastern’s Macy Corcoran, Westfall’s Karli Thornton and Huntington’s Kaci Carroll.
Adena’s Laura Smith is the Division III District Coach of the Year.
DIVISION IV
Dettwiller is joined by teammates Brianne Hicks and Mallory Boland with first-team honors while Western’s Kenzie Ferneau and New Boston’s Dylan O’Rourke round out the list.
Second-team honors were earned by Clay’s Maggie Swayne, Eastern’s Megan Nickell, Notre Dame’s Gwen Sparks and Maddie Entler, Green’s Alex Smith and New Boston’s Cadence Williams.
Notre Dame’s Gracie Ashley, Western’s Addy Brewster, Clay’s Katie Fife, New Boston’s Jadelyn Lawson and Eastern’s Laken Gullett are all honorable mention selections.
First-year Notre Dame coach Annie Dettwiller is the Division IV District Coach of the Year.
