CHILLICOTHE — This past week, Unioto’s boys cross country program won the Huntington Invitational title …. handily.
The Shermans finished in each of the first six places, earning a perfect score at 15 points. Corey Schobelock won the event, taking first with a finish time of 17:44.15.
He was followed by teammates Clayton Lynch in second (17:53.54), Robert Immell in third (18:02.58), Eric Hacker in fourth (18:03.90), Gabe Lynch in fifth (18:20.06) and Cater Markko in sixth (18:29.95).
Having said that, it’s no surprise to see the Shermans ranked in the first regular season OATCCC poll. The list has Unioto as Division II’s No. 3 ranked team in the state with 195 points. Taking the top two spots are Woodridge (227) and Bay (197). Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary is No. 4 at 184.
The Shermans will be back in action at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7 at the McGowan Invitational, held at Watkins Memorial High School.
