PROCTORVILLE — The District 13 Coaches Association has released its all-district girls basketball teams and multiple familiar names headline the list.
In Division V, Chesapeake’s Kate Ball is the Player of the Year while Waterford’s Kendall Sury earned the honor in Division VI/VII.
Ball led the Panthers to 12 wins, while averaging 15.5 points and notched her 1,000th career point as well. Sury has put up 12.7 points per night for the regional champion Wildcats.
Here’s a look at the rest of the all-district selections within SOSA’s coverage umbrella.
DIVISION II/III/IV
The Division II/III/IV first-team list includes Athens’ Asa Holcombe, Logan’s Makenzie Daubenmire and South Point’s Saratina Jackson.
On the second-team list is Gallia Academy’s Kenya Peck, Athens’ Quinn Banks, Jackson’s Sydney Carpenter and Vinton County’s Emma Leaming.
Honorable mention honors were earned by South Point’s Samiya Bradburn and Molly Adams, Logan’s Ryan Landis and Ella Hinton, Gallia Academy’s Loulea Walker and Chloe Bennett and Athens’ Lex Koopal.
Marietta coach Ryan McClain is the Division II/III/IV District 13 Coach of the Year while Leigha Lauer is the Player of the Year,
DIVISION V
Alongside Ball on the first-team list in Division V is Fairland’s Addison Godby and Bailey Russell, River Valley’s Hayley Edwards, Ironton’s Lola Hankins and Alexander’s Lily Ryder.
On the second-team list is Fairland’s Kamryn Barnitz, Ironton’s Emerson White, Rock Hill’s Jylnn Risner, River Valley’s Kallie Burger and Chesapeake’s Abbey Isaacs.
The honorable mention list is highlighted by Rock Hill’s Myles Bailey and Sammy Bammer, Fairland’s Isa Taliaferro and Ava Layne, Wellston’s Kennedi Stevens and Maddison Boggs, Alexander’s Kaylee Hudnall, River Valley’s Carlee Manley, Chesapeake’s Erin Hicks and Ironton’s Peyton Deer.
Alexander coach Morgan Grinstead was named Division V District 13 Coach of the Year.
DIVISION VI/VII
Alongside Sury on the first-team list Division VI/VII are her teammates Avery Wagner and Avery Smithberger, Federal Hocking’s Brenlee Cottrill, South Gallia’s Emma Clary and Belpre’s Gracie Bills.
On the second-team list is Belpre’s Haley Alloway, Trimble’s Rilynn Fouts, Coal Grove’s Jenna Anson, Symmes Valley’s Kaitlin Maynard and Federal Hocking’s Jaylee Orsborne.
The honorable mention list is comprised of Nelsonville-York’s Alayna Okulich and Madi Pidcock, Southern’s Kiersten Rose and Sydney Stout, Symmes Valley’s Brenna Tibbs and Zudra Saunders, Trimble’s Abby Weber, Coal Grove’s Kendall Taylor, South Gallia’s Ryleigh Shafer and Federal Hocking’s Takira Walker.
Waterford coach Jerry Close is the Division VI/VII District 13 Coach of the Year.
