CHILLICOTHE — The future is undeniably bright at Unioto.

The Shermans’ varsity, junior varsity and junior high basketball programs each claimed Scioto Valley Conference championships this season.

At the varsity level, Unioto polished off an SVC-title season with a 13-1 mark in league play alongside a 19-3 overall record.

Junior Blake Fitch led that charge with 14.4 points and five assists per night while shooting 47.9 percent from the floor and 80.5 percent from the free throw line.

For those efforts, Fitch was named the SVC’s Player of the Year when the conference released its all-league honors on Wednesday.

Joining Fitch with first-team all-league honors is Zane Trace’s Gunnar McCullough, Southeastern’s Lane Williams, Paint Valley’s Carson Free and Piketon’s Bo Henry.
