COLUMBUS — Shaun Terry’s mantle is getting a little crowded.

After leading the Tigers to a Division V state championship this past weekend, Ironton’s standout, should’ve-been-Mr. Football receiver was tabbed as the Division V Offensive Player of the Year when the Ohio Prep Media Association released its Division IV and V All-Ohio football teams on Tuesday.

Joining him with first-team honors are his teammates Josh Johnson and Aiden Layne, Fairland’s Jack Hayden and Wheelersburg’s Cooper Heimbach.

Meanwhile, in Division IV, Logan Elm’s Bryce Perkins was the only area selection to make the first-team list.

Terry totaled 2,320 all-purpose yards and 30 total touchdowns as he was also named the Division V District Offensive Player of the Year. Johnson was named the Division V District Defensive Player of the Year and came up with the game-sealing forced fumble in the state title game. Layne was a force in the trenches, setting the tone and disrupting backfields.

Hayden was a complete Swiss Army Knife for the Dragons, running for 506 yards, passing for 306 yards and adding 306 receiving yards, alongside 20 total touchdowns. Heimbach earned his spot as the Pirates’ kicker, while Perkins, who was named the Division IV co-Defensive Player of the Year, racked up over 110 tackles and 10 tackles for loss in the Braves’ eight-win season.
