COLUMBUS — The Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association has announced its All-Ohio volleyball lists and multiple area athletes have earned recognition.
In Division III, Miami Trace’s Addyson Butts has earned a second-team All-Ohio nod. Butts led her Panthers to a 22-2 mark including a 10-0 record in the FAC. She posted 428 kills, 55 aces and 40 blocks.
Butts’ setter, Kylie Yeazel, has also earned all-state recognition, gracing the honorable mention list.
Fairfield Union’s Christian Thompson is a first-team All-Ohioan in Divison IV after helping her Falcons finish 18-6 with 471 kills, 40 aces, 41 blocks and 395 digs.
Earning third-team All-Ohio status is Gallia Academy’s Gracyn Clark, the OVC’s Offensive Player of the Year, and Circleville’s Ally Thornsley.
Adena’s Katie Burns headlines the Division V first-team selections. Burns has her Warriors in the Final 4 after Saturday’s win over Wheelersburg. She’s posted 516 kills, 35 aces, 81 blocks and 126 digs while her Warriors are 24-3 overall.
Wheelersburg’s Gracie Perkins is also a first-team All-Ohio selection in DV. Perkins led her Pirates to a regional final appearance with 344 kills and 69 blocks.
North Adams’ Katelynn Boerger is also recognized on the DV list as a second-team honoree. Boerger once again led her Green Devils to a SHAC championship.
Huntington’s pair of Kaci Carroll and Leah McCloskey are also on the Division V list. McCloskey is a third-team all-state honoree while Carroll has earned honorable mention honors.
In Division VI, South Webster’s Addi Claxon has earned a second-team All-Ohio nod and is the division’s only honoree in SOSA’s coverage area after leading her Jeeps to yet another district championship.
The area’s only all-state recipient in Division VII is Notre Dame’s Bree Hicks, who is an honorable mention selection after leading her Titans to a district crown.
