The Southern Ohio Conference has released its all-conference soccer honors and multiple familiar names headline the lists.
Ironton St. Joe’s Wesley Neal, Wheelersburg’s Nick Sylvia and Minford’s Lexi Conkel have all been named the SOC Player of the Year in their respective divisions.
Meanwhile, Valley’s Christian Copen, Wheelersburg’s Breyden Byrd and both Minford’s Maggie Risner and Wheelersburg’s Layni Greenhill have earned Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Coach of the Year honors have been given to Western’s Jason Claytor and Valley’s Jacob Perry in the SOC I, Wheelersburg’s Jon Estep in the SOC II and Northwest’s Ryan Rachford.
Here’s a breakdown of each division’s all-conference honorees.
In the SOC I, Neal is joined on the all-league list by teammates Landon Rowe, Ian Whaley, Jack Whaley, Carson Lyons and Blake Medinger, alongside Valley’s Jaekyn Ridout, Chase Davis, Carter Ruby and Nick Queen, Western’s Tyler Kerns, Elijah McQuay, Jorge Pajares and Samuele Cattanco, Clay’s Billy Miller, Evan Rider and Isaiah Whitt, and New Boston’s Ian Spiess and Julian Brady.
Meanwhile, in the SOC II, Sylvia and Byrd are joined by teammates Miller McKenzie, Ethan Hochstetler, Brody Wilburn and Clark Weller, Minford’s Ethan Cordle, Gavin Downey, Myles Montgomery, Kade Glockner and Max Lauder, South Webster’s Dylan Shupert, Hunter Barnard, Cole Bennett and Brycin McClintic, West’s Colton Journey, Nick Messer and Kialan Moore, Northwest’s Luke Lewis and Noah Bayless, and Waverly’s Carson Moore and Nathan Lehew.
As for the girls, joining Conkel with all-league honors are teammates Ava Cronin, Maggie Risner, Marlee Pendleton, Lexi Pendleton and Ella Estep, as well as Wheelersburg’s Mia Vastine, Makenzie Mullens, Ella McGraw and Ella Hochstetler, Waverly’s Abby Green, Rachel Remy, Leah Walters and Kailee Harris, and Northwest’s Molly Ann Runyon, Kaytie Hatfield and Mea Landrum.
