CHILLICOTHE — After three years at the helm of Chillicothe’s football program, Scott Bartholomew has announced his resignation from the position.
“I want to thank Coach Bartholomew for everything he has done for the Cavalier football program over the past three seasons,” Chillicothe Athletic Director Knute Bonner said. “He has been an incredible asset to not just the football program, but to the Chillicothe City School District as a whole. We will miss him on the sidelines, and wish him the best of luck in his retirement from coaching.”
During his time with the Cavaliers, Bartholomew was 10-21 with a playoff appearance in 2022. After finishing 7-4 in his first year, tough times fell on the program. In 2023, Chillicothe was 1-9 before finishing 2-8 this fall.
However, his coaching resume speaks for itself.
Overall, as a head coach at the varsity level, Bartholomew’s career record is 176-110.
“I would like to thank the administration and the board of education for giving me the opportunity to be the head football coach at Chillicothe High School,” Bartholomew said. “My experience with the kids was outstanding, the support from the administration was unwavering and greatly appreciated.”
Bonner said the school is actively looking for Bartholomew’s replacement and interested parties can apply via email at knute.bonner@ccsd.us.
