Butts, Perkins, Claxon headline District 14 volleyball selections

The District 14 Volleyball Coaches Association has released its all-district honors.

The District 14 Volleyball Coaches Association released its all-district volleyball teams on Sunday and three All-Ohio caliber names headlined the lists.

Miami Trace’s Addyson Butts, Wheelersburg’s Gracie Perkins and South Webster’s Addison Claxon have all been named their respective Division’s District Player of the Year — Thompson in Division III/IV, Perkins in Division V and Claxon in Division VI.

Butts led her FAC champion Panthers to a 22-2 mark this fall while piling up 428 kills and 55 aces. Perkins has been magnificent for the SOC III champions Pirates, now at 21-2, while racking up 318 kills and 60 blocks. And Claxon, in her own right, has been special for the 19-win Jeeps with 476 digs and 43 aces.

District Coach of the Year honors have been earned by Miami Trace’s Doug Mace, Wheeelrsburg’s Kelsey Glockner and South Webster’s Darcee Claxon.

Here’s a full look at the rest of the all-district selections.

Division III/IV

Joining Butts with Division III/IV first-team all-district honors is her teammate Kylie Yeazel alongside Logan Elm’s Claire King, Fairfield Union’s Christian Thompson, Chillicothe’s Evelyn Hamman and Circleville’s Ally Thornsley.

Second-team honors were earned by Fairfield Union’s Molly Brown, Chillicothe’s Grace Townsend, Unioto’s Alli Park, Waverly’s Sidney Johnson, Hillsboro’s Samantha Tipton and Circleville’s Drew Hoskins.

Honorable Mention honorees are as follows: Washington’s Maggi Wall, McClain’s Kylea Toney, Chillicothe’s Miranda McCloy, Hillsboro’s Tylee Davis, and Unioto’s duo of Kyra Stulley and Alexa West.

Zane Trace’s Addison Platt is second-team all-district honoree in Division V.

Division V

Perkins is joined on the first-team list by her teammate Grace Woodward, Adena’s Katie Burns, Huntington’s Kaci Carroll, North Adams’ Katelynn Boerger, and Minford’s Lindsee Williams.

On the second-team list is Huntington’s Leah McCloskey, Zane Trace’s Addison Platt, North Adams’ Natalie Ragan, Northwest’s Claire Newman, Adena’s duo of Corinne Day and Kimmy Dalton

Honorable mention selections are as follows: Wheelersburg’s Ella Chamberlin and Alyssa Mullins, Zane Trace’s Laynie Scott, North Adams’ Aulbrea Meade, Piketon’s Ryanne Moore, West Union’s Ashlah Staten, Westfall’s Adrian Moehl, and Minford’s Joey Neal.

Division VI/VII

In Division VI/VII, Claxon is joined with first-team honors by her teammate Makayla Raynard, Eastern’s Laken Gullett, Notre Dame’s Bree Hicks, Southeastern’s Jozy Lougheed, and Fairfield’s Jobey Hattan.

Second-team honors go to Fairfield’s Kelsey Clark, Notre Dame’s Lyndsey Schaefer, South Webster’s Mia Crum, Lynchburg-Clay Joslyn Rockey, Western’s Addy Brewster and West’s Maci Bradford

The third-team list is highlighted by Notre Dame’s Maddie Entler and Maycee Ford, Southeastern’s Kylee Dunn, Valley’s Kendyl Christman, Eastern’s Braelyn Bevins, and Clay’s Addie Willis.
