23 area players earn All-Ohio softball honors

23 players have earned state recognition.

COLUMBUS — The Ohio High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association recently released its All-Ohio softball lists and a number of players from SOSA’s coverage area earned their spots.

Leading the area’s honorees are Chillicothe’s CJ Rittinger in Division I, Circleville’s Gabby McConnell in Division II, Wheelersburg’s Catie Boggs and Andi Jo Howard, and Fairfield’s Caitlyn Quickle in Division III and Valley’s Emilie Johnson, Symmes Valley’s Desiree Simpson and Manchester’s Rylie Young in Division IV — all of whom earned first-team honors.

In Division I, Logan’s Alyssa Hill also graced the list as a second-team selection.

Fairland’s Kaylee Salyer and Unioto’s Hannah Hull are second-team all-state honorees in Division II while Logan Elm’s Sadie Binkley and Hillsboro’s Camryn Spruell are honorable mention selections.

Joining Boggs, Howard and Quickle with All-Ohio honors in Division III are South Webster’s Skylar Zimmerman, Huntington’s Savannah Bushatz and Wellston’s Hannah Potts, who are all second-team honorees.

Meanwhile, West’s Kate Rollins, Wellston’s Maddie Childers and Wheelersburg’s Kaylynn Carter have earned honorable mention all-state accolades.

Lastly, in Division IV, both Notre Dame’s Gwen Sparks and Eastern’s Megan Nickell are second-team All-Ohio honorees while Clay’s Sarah Cassidy and New Boston’s Jadelyn Lawson have earned honorable mention honors.
