PORTSMOUTH — The Southern Ohio Conference released its all-league baseball honors on Monday.
In the SOC I, Notre Dame’s Luke Cassidy earned Player of the Year honors while Green’s Jonathan Knapp is the Pitcher of the Year. Green coach Dave Shoupe was tabbed as the league’s Coach of the Year.
In the SOC II, Oak Hill’s Mason Davis is the Pitcher of the Year while Symmes Valley’s WIll Jones is the Player of the Year. Jones’ skipper Eric Holland was named the Coach of the Year.
Lastly, for individual accolades, in the SOC III, Minford’s Grant Wheeler has been named the Player of the Year while Wheelersburg’s Caden Conn has earned Pitcher of the Year honors. Pirates coach Derek Moore is the Coach of the Year.
Joining Cassidy and Knapp on the first-team list in the SOC I are Green’s Nathaniel Brannigan and Quincey Merrill, Ironton St. Joe’s Evan Balstera and Landon Rowe, Notre Dame’s Ethan Kingery, New Boston’s Colt Maynard, Clay’s Brandon Malone and East’s Dustin Bailey.
Second-team honorees are Green’s Landon Kimbler and Blake Smith, Notre Dame’s Eugene Collins and Bryce McGraw, Ironton St. Joe’s Brady Medinger, New Boston’s Austin Goodman, Clay’s Aiden Ball and East’s Cameron Justice.
Making first-team SOC II, alongside Davis and Jones, are Symmes Valley’s Tanner Corn and Luke Niece, South Gallia’s Jahvin Davis and Ayden Conwell, Northwest’s Logan Shepherd and Gavin Powell, Oak Hill’s Eddie Abele, Eastern’s Cade Leist and Western’s Mike Bennett.
On second-team SOC II is Oak Hill’s Joseph Anteby and Mike Williams, Symmes Valley’s Zander Hurn and Mason Stevenson, South Gallia’s Tanner Boothe, Northwest’s Peyton Wolfe, Eastern’s Dylan Morton and Western’s Tyler Kerns.
Conn and Wheeler were joined on the SOC III first-team list by Wheelersburg’s Jake Darling and Connor Estep, Minford’s Grant Wheeler and Cameron Thacker, Valley’s Carson Powell and Jace Copley, South Webster’s Hunter Barnard, Waverly’s LT Jordan and West’s Trevor Fike.
Earning second-team honors in the SOC III are Wheelersburg’s Rowdy Watkins and Isaac Bockway, Minford’s Carson Cronin and JD Matiz, Valley’s Tate Queen, South Webster’s Benaiah Andrews, Waverly’s Creed Smith and West’s Jakob Tipton.
