COLUMBUS — All season, South Webster’s Bella Claxon and Fairfield Union’s Christian Thompson have been the straw that stirs their respective team’s drink.

Claxon guided the Jeeps to a perfect regular season before they ended at 26-1 and as SOC II, sectional and district champions alongside a regional runner-up finish. She compiled team-highs of 595 assists, 296 kills and 86 aces to go along with 298 digs.

Thompson, on the other hand, guided the Falcons to 20 wins including a sectional title and district runner-up finish with 590 kills, 360 digs and 48 aces.

Their efforts have been rewarded with first-team All-Ohio honors.

Joining Thompson with Division II honors is Logan Elm’s Claire King, who is third-team All-Ohio selection.

The sophomore middle hitter racked up 424 kills, 102 digs, 83 blocks and 21 aces.

Elsewhere, in Division III, Adena’s Brinlee Preston, Southeastern’s Jozy Lougheed, West’s Emma Sayre and Claxon’s sister, Addi Claxon, have also received All-Ohio honors.

Preston, a second-team selection, compiled 264 kills, 72 blocks and 18 aces, which helped the Warriors to 18 wins, and sectional and district championships.

Lougheed earned a third-team nod after lifting the Panthers to 19 wins, a sectional title and a district runner-up finish with 423 kills, 299 digs, 204 assists and 45 aces. Addi Claxon was tabbed as honorable mention with 410 digs, 91 assists and 57 aces, and Sayre, a University of Marshall commit, tallied 510 digs and 56 digs for the 16-win Senators.
