PORTSMOUTH — The Southern Ohio Conference announced its all-league volleyball teams on Tuesday and there’s no surprises at the top of the list.
Notre Dame’s Bree Hicks and South Webster’s Bella Claxon, who each led their teams to conference championships, have been named the SOC I and II Players of the Year.
Hicks led her Titans to a perfect finish in league play alongside a sectional championship while Claxon’s Jeeps sit at 25-0 with league, sectional and district crowns under their belts.
Also earning individual recognition are Western’s Finley May, who is the SOC I Defensive Player of the Year, and West’s Emma Sayre, the SOC II DPOY.
Coach of the Year honors went to Western’s Mallory Williams and South Webster’s Darcee Claxon.

In the SOC I, joining Hicks and May with first-team honors are Notre Dame’s Gracie Ashley, Katie Strickland and Maddie Entler, Western’s Addy Brewster and Breleigh Tackett, Symmes Valley’s Desiree Simpson and Kaitlyn Maynard, Green’s Ryleigh McDavid, Clay’s Delaney Staker, New Boston’s Jadelyn Lawson, South Gallia’s Macie Sanders and East’s Ella Shope.

Second-team honors were earned by Notre Dame’s Maycee Ford and Lynsey Schaefer, Western’s Kerrigan Marhoover and Katelynn Penwell, Symmes Valley’s Kayley Maynard and Hailee Beckett, Green’s Heaven Mattingly and Emma Brown, Clay’s Addie Willis, New Boston’s Cassie Williams, South Gallia’s Tori Triplett and East’s Natali Hoskins.
On the SOC II’s first-team list, alongside Claxon and Sayre, is South Webster’s Addi Claxon, Skylar Zimmerman and Mia Crum, Wheelersburg’s Gracie Perkins, Grace Woodward and Ella Chamberlin, West’s Emily Moore, Minford’s Kynedi Davis, Valley’s Addalyn Conaway Oak Hill’s Emma Figgins, Eastern’s Megan Nickell, Northwest’s Claire Newman and Waverly’s Hallie Oyer.
The second-team honorees are South Webster’s Makayla Raynard and Lauren Kaltenbach, Wheelersburg’s Brooklyn Miller and Mylee Gleim, West’s Maci Bradford and Kate Rollins, Minford’s Lindsee Williams and Joey Neal, Valley’s Lexie Morrow, Oak Hill’s Ayla Beaver, Eatern’s Laken Gullett, Northwet’s Karleigh South and Waverly’s Caris Risner.
