WAVERLY — The Southeast District Baseball Coaches Association released its all-district lists on Wednesday, which included many names fans have become familiar with this spring.
Here’s a brief look at all of the all-district honorees from SOSA’s coverage area — the SVC, SOC, FAC, OVC, SHAC and MSL-Buckeye, as well as Vinton County, Wellston, Athens and Portsmouth.
NOTE: The Southeast District All-Star Game will take place on June 12 at VA Memorial Stadium. First-team honorees will participate in that contest.
DIVISION I & II
Headlining the North’s first-team selections were Washington’s Titus Lotz and John Wall, Circleville’s Tate DeBord and Logan Smith, Miami Trace’s Dillon Hyer, Fairfield Union’s Malachi Palmer and Logan’s Simon Pierce.
The South’s first-team selections include Jackson’s Noah Ernst, Ramey Wyant and Boston Campbell, Unioto’s Micah Geise, Keegan Snyder and K.B. Perkins, Waverly’s Alex Boles and L.T. Jordan, Hillsboro’s Korbin Adams, McClain’s Kaden Penwell and Athens’ Landon Wheatley.
Sheridan’s Doug Fisher was named North Coach of the Year, while Unioto’s Tony Taylor was named South Coach of the Year.
Second-team North features Washington’s Tanner Lemaster, Logan Elm’s Grant Cline, Miami Trace’s Gabe Stuckey, Circleville’s Nolan West and Fairfield Union’s Ronnie Rowley.
On the South’s second-team is Waverly’s Quinton and Jase Hurd, Unioto’s Landyn Patterson and Owen Link, Jackson’s Gaven Jones, Vinton County’s Dawson Brown, McClain’s Andrew Potts and Hillsboro’s Brayden Hunter.
North’s honorable mention were Washington’s Jonah Waters and Logan’s Lucas Wolfe, while Jackson’s Landon Camp and McClain’s Jayden Allison made honorable mention for the South.
Special mention for the North is Logan Elm’s Zack Parks and Blayton Reid, Circleville’s Scottie Moats and Matt Bradley, Miami Trace’s Cole Little and Wyatt Hicks, Logan’s Easton Castle and Colin Cook and Washington’s A.J. Dallmayer.
Unioto’s Isaiah Leeth and Andrew Griffin, Chillicothe’s Aiden Spaulding and Jacob Lemaster, Athens’ Carter Wharton and Luke Brandes, Hillsboro’s Bryce Parsons and Garet Thompson, McClain’s Haydon Hice and Gavin Warren, Waverly’s Peyton Harris and Vinton County’s Kameron Griffin make up special mention for the South.
DIVISION III
Making first-team East was Fairland’s Brycen Hunt, Blake Trevathan and Niko Kiritsy, Minford’s Carson Cronin and Grant Wheeler, Wellston’s Josh Jackson and Logan Martin, Ironton’s Ian Ginger and Trevor Kleinman, Oak Hill’s Rylan Sams, Chesapeake’s Nick Wright and South Point’s Brayden Hanshaw.
On first-team West is Eastern Brown’s Wyatt Haupt and Carter Vaughn, Portsmouth’s Tyler Duncan and Vinnie Lonardo, Huntington’s Dalton Black and D.J. Crocker, Valley’s George Arnett and Jace Copley, Wheelersburg’s Lane Hutchinson and Caden Conn, Westfall’s Trent Walters, Zane Trace’s Landen Jarrell, West’s Jakob Tipton, Northwest’s Brady Doss, Peebles’ Zane Porter and North Adams’ Caleb Rothwell.
Portsmouth’s Aaron Duncan was named West Coach of the Year, while Fairland’s Michael Hill was named East Coach of the Year.
Second-team East was made up of Rock Hill’s Isaac Doolin and Dylan Griffith, Ironton’s Brady Moatz and Chayden Kerns, Fairland’s Blaze Perry and Cooper Cummings, Minford’s Noah Martin and Mason Book, Wellston’s Will Briggs, Oak Hill’s Aiden Hall, Coal Grove’s Landon Davis and South Point’s Joey Lobaldo.
West’s second-team is comprised of Valley’s Jaekyn Rideout and Carter Nickel, Huntington’s Brayden Leach and Corbin Long, Zane Trace’s Josh Young and Austen Ison, Portsmouth’s Reade Pendleton and J.T. Williams, Westfall’s Bryant Coker, Adena’s Mason Dyer, Piketon’s Cayde Conley, West’s Trevor Fike and Wheelersburg’s Issac Bockway.
Chesapeake’s Jacob Daniels, South Point’s Cory Otzenberger and Fairland’s Ethan Wall make up Honorable Mention in the East, while Wheelersburg’s Jake Darling and Creed Warren, Northwest’s Logan Shepard and Lynchburg-Clay’s Josiah Burns earned honorable mention in the West.
Special Mention honors in the East went to Oak Hill’s Nate Clutters and Mason Davis, Minford’s Aodhan Queen and Adam Crank, Fairland’s Hunter Lykins and Blake Simmons, Southeastern’s Tyler Brown, Ironton’s Cole Freeman, South Point’s Xavier Henry, and Rock Hill’s Landon Harper.
For the West, Valley’s Hunter Edwards and Chris Queen, Adena’s Andrew Vickers and David Magill, Peebles’ Ethan Beekman and Cory Reed, Huntington’s Ryan Porter and Caiden Stewart, Westfall’s Seth Gifford and Brandon Bingham, Northwest’s Eli Dettwiller and Portsmouth’s A’Mari Harmon earned special mention.
DIVISION IV
First-team East is highlighted by South Webster’s Robert Martin and Jaren Lower, Ironton St. Joe’s Drew Brown and Symmes Valley’s Will Jones. On the West first-team is Whiteoak’s Landen Barnett, Nate Price and Luken Roades, Fairfield’s Gabe Fouch, Cade Miller and Dow Moon, Paint Valley’s John Free and Dax Estep, Clay’s Brandon Malone, Notre Dame’s Luke Cassidy and Green’s Nate Brannigan.
Reedsville Eastern’s Chris Stewart was named East Coach of the Year, while Whiteoak’s Chris Veidt was named West Coach of the Year.
Second-team West is headlined by Notre Dame’s Alex Cassidy, Myles Phillips and Reagen Lester, Whiteoak’s Eli Roberts and Ian Griffith, Eastern’s Nate Havens and Braylon Lamerson, East’s Ethan Rase, Fairfield’s Landry Hattan and Western’s Tyler Kerns.
East’s second-team is made up of South Webster’s Hunter Barnard and Ironton St. Joe’s Evan Blastera.
Ironton St. Joe’s Kai Coleman made honorable mention in the East, while Notre Dame’s Dylan Seison, East’s Dustin Bailey and Whiteoak’s Zander Roades made the list in the West.
South Webster’s Connor Bender and Ironton St. Joe’s Mark Hodges and Matthew Heighton made East honorable mention, while Western’s Chase Carter and Nick Lightle, Fairfield’s Wyatt Collins and Noah Allering, Whiteoak’s Carson Emery and David Donohoo, Paint Valley’s Alex Long, Eastern’s Bear Tomlinson, East’s Landhen Pernell and Clay’s Drew Zuefle earned honorable mention in the West.
