CHILLICOTHE — The Scioto Valley Conference’s batting champion has been named the league’s Player of the Year.
Unioto catcher Keegan Snyder, who’s hitting .600 this spring, earned the honor after leading his Shermans to a 13-1 mark in conference play alongside a league title and, currently, an overall record of 23-2.
To go alongside his batting average, Snyder boasts a league-high 33 RBIs, eight doubles and 24 runs scored.
Snyder’s skipper, Tony Taylor, has been named the league’s co-Coach of the Year, sharing the honor with Huntington’s Ed Yates.
Joining Snyder with first-team honors are teammates Micah Geise and Landyn Patterson, as well as Huntington’s DJ Crocker, Dalton Black and Braylon Leach, Zane Trace’s Landen Jarrell, Paint Valley’s Dax Estep and Westfall’s Trent Walters.
The second-team selections include Piketon’s Christian Horn and Alex Jenkins, Unioto’s KB Perkins, Westfall’s Bryant Coker and Brandon Bingham, Zane Trace’s Josh Young and Austen Ison, and Adena’s Christian Heath and Mason Dyer.
Honorable mention selections were as follows: Adena’s Andrew Vickers and David Magill, Huntington’s Corbin Long and Andrew Oyer, Paint Valley’s John Free and Carson Free, Piketon’s Cade Conley and Garrett Legg, Southeastern’s Hudson Drake and Tyler Brown, Unioto’s Andrew Griffin and Owen Link, Westfall’s Cade Hall and Jaden Towler and Zane Trace’s Rece Allen and Drew Lane.
