FRANKFORT — All year long, Adena’s Kiera Williams has been practically invincible at the plate.
On Wednesday, her efforts were rewarded with the Scioto Valley Conference’s Player of the Year honor.
The junior’s honor comes after she led the league in batting with a gaudy .658 batting average alongside 47 runs — also a league-high — 43 RBIs, four home runs, five triples, 11 doubles and 19 stolen bases.
Those numbers helped the Warriors win their first league championship since 2011 with a 13-1 mark in league play.
The league’s Coach of the Year honor went to Williams’ skipper Brad Jadwin, who has his Warriors at 22-3 overall heading into district tournament play.
Joining Williams with first-team honors is teammate Greenlee Bossert, Unioto’s Alexis Book and Hannah Hull, Westfall’s Olivia Dumm and Makayla Cook, Southeastern’s Erin Richendollar, and Zane Trace’s Lexi Scott and Gracey McCullough.
The second-team selections include Adena’s Emma Garrison and Adriana Guarnieri, Huntington’s Savannah Bushatz, Unioto’s Megan Miller and Morgan Daniels, Paint Valley’s Sophia Stauffer, Southeastern’s Grace Wireman, Westfall’s Delana Landefeld, and Piketon’s Camryn Campbell.
