COLUMBUS — Adena senior Sydney Foglesong was a force to be reckoned with all year long.
The Warriors’ middle hitter gave opponents fits at the net and helped her teammates capture league, sectional and district championships en route to an Elite 8 finish.
On Sunday, Foglesong was named a Division III first-team All-Ohioan by the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association.
While Adena went 24-3, Foglesong compiled a team-high 388 kills alongside 72 blocks.
Also earning All-Ohio honors is Wheelersburg setter Makenna Walker. The Pirates’ senior aided her team to a sixth straight district title while amassing 143 kills, 43 aces, 20 blocks, 224 digs and 755 assists.
South Webster’s Bella Claxon joins Walker as a second-team All-Ohioan following a district championship run from her Jeeps. Claxon finished the season with 193 kills, 94 aces, 23 blocks, 273 digs and 799 assists.
Adena’s Hannah Burns and North Adams’ Keetyn Hupp are honorable mention selections in Division III. Burns finished her year with 268 kills while Hupp, who logger her 1,000th career kill earlier this fall, ended the year with a team-high 449 kills.
Elsewhere, in Division II, Bloom-Carroll’s McKenna Wiseman is an honorable mention All-Ohioan. Wiseman helped the Bulldogs capture an MSL-Buckeye title and had 79 aces alongside 411 digs.
In Division IV, Notre Dame’s Annie Dettwiller is an honorable mention honoree. Dettwiller guided her Titans to 21 wins, a conference championship and a district final appearance while logging 248 kills and 320 digs.
