Senior Lexi Scott has earned that honor after a stellar season that saw her Pioneers finish 17-4 overall with a 12-2 mark in league play — Scott is the first Pioneer to be the conference’s POY since Hayley Carle.
During those 21 matches, Scott’s numbers spoke for themselves. She led the team with 377 kills and added 16 aces, 28 blocks, 278 digs and 20 assists.
Meanwhile, Scott’s teammate Gracey McCullough has been named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year. McCullough, a senior, has amassed 451 digs while averaging 21.5 per match. She’s tallied 238 serve receptions with only 19 reception errors.
The conference’s Coach of the Year title was awarded to Adena’s Laura Smith, the head coach’s 21st such honor. Smith’s Warriors won the outright SVC title with a 13-1 mark during conference play.
Joining Scott and McCullough with all-league honors, and in no certain order, is teammate Kinley May, Adena’s Sydney Foglesong, Hannah Burns, Brooke Bossert and Grace Townsend, Huntington’s Emma Hinshaw, Paint Valley’s Averi McFadden, Piketon’s Jazz Lamerson, Southeastern’s Jozy Lougheed and Gracee Pfeifer, Unioto’s Sophie Coleman and Ella Cutright, and Westfall’s pair of Karli Thornton and Lauryn Blackburn.
The honorable mention list is as follows: Adena’s Brenna McQuiniff and Brinlee Preston, Huntington’s Kaci Carroll and Leah McCloskey, Paint Valley’s Kaitlin Potts and Kendall Dye, Piketon’s Kennedy Jenkins and Camryn Campbell, Southeastern’s Morgan Ware and Macy Corcoran, Unioto’s Jade Stewart and Abbie Marshall, Westfall’s Jaylyn Wippel and Aubrey Clark, and Zane Trace’s Alexis Farley and Delaney Berry.
