SOSA Staff Report

PORTSMOUTH — Notre Dame’s Ava Hassel is a walking bucket, literally.

The Titans senior guard has done nothing but find the bottom of the net this season and that trend continued last week.

In a pivotal non-conference win over state-ranked Trimble, Hassel dropped a career high 37 points in a 66-58 win. She’s currently averaging 21.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 4.3 steals each night.

For her efforts, Hassel is SOSA’s 31st overall SOC Athlete of the Week, presented by The UPS Store.

Out of 873 total votes, Northwest’s Connor Lintz won the popular vote with 386 or 44.2 percent. New Boston’s Kyle Sexton was second in the voting with 209, Hassel was third with a count of 192, and Green’s Kame Sweeney was fourth at 86.

Hassel received three of the four votes from the guys at SOSA to win the award.

For her efforts, Hassel will receive a free t-shirt from The UPS Store, as well as meal coupons from the Schmidt Family Restaurant Group.
