SOSA Staff Report
CHILLICOTHE — After five seasons of success at Chillicothe, girls soccer coach Tyler Wickham has resigned from his head coaching position.
Wickham, who took the reins of the program in 2016, guided the Cavaliers to a 62-21-6 during his five-year stay.
“My time at Chillicothe is something I’m having a difficult time putting into words,” Wickham said. “The relationships I’ve built with the school administration, school faculty, the parents and the players are some that mean the world to me, way more than any wins or titles we’ve shared.”
Wickham confirmed his resignation with SOSA, saying that he plans to accept an assistant coaching position within Notre Dame College’s men’s program.
“I’m just so grateful to have been involved with a program like Chillicothe for the past nine years,” he said. “I’ve had the opportunity to be around some fantastic players, but even better kids. In the last 24 hours, lots of previous players have reached out to congratulate me. It’s very true that once you’re a Cavalier, you’re always a Cavalier.”
Wickham guided the Cavaliers to a 14-3 record last fall. Chillicothe won five straight conference championships during his coaching tenure.
