CHILLICOTHE — Last fall, Cade Williams was one of Chillicothe’s most feared defensive players. This coming fall, he’ll be a Wittenberg Tiger.
Williams, a linebacker, made his college decision official on Thursday via Twitter.
“I just loved the campus, coaches, and football facilities the first visit,” Williams said of Wittenberg. “When I went for the second visit, I just knew it was where I wanted to go. I’m looking forward to learning more and being able to play another four years of the sport I love.”
Williams was an all-conference and all-district selection as a senior. He was the driving force behind a Cavalier defense that held opponents to 20 points or less on five occasions.
He’ll be joining a program that finished 7-3 last year and 7-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. The Tigers also claimed their fourth straight conference title.
“Everyone around me has supported me since I started playing sports and have just given me love. They’ve pushed me harder everyday,” Williams said. “Being able to play at the next level has always been a dream of mine and it feels amazing that I am. Now, it’s time to put in work this off-season to be better for next year.”
