The Warriors (1-0) got off to a great start Saturday with a win over Lucasville Valley.
Leading Adena to the victory was Logan Bennett with 26 points and eight rebounds while Preston Sykes had 11 points, five boards and five assists. Cade McKee also helped out with 11 points while Dillon McDonald had 10 points.
The Warriors will be back in action on Dec. 9 at Chillicothe.
WAVERLY 63, WARREN 60
The Tigers (1-0) hung onto a late lead in their season opener before beating Warren by a 63-60 final, Saturday evening at the Piketon Tip-Off Classic.

Waverly was led in scoring by Trey Robertson with 20 points while Tanner Smallwood added 15 and nine rebounds. Gage Wheeler and Michael Goodman also helped out, totaling seven points each while Will Futhey had eight of his own.

The Tigers (1-0) started their year with a double-digit win over Southeastern, which was spearheaded by junior Kyle Sexton’s 26 points and 11 rebounds.
Following Sexton’s performance was Tanner Voiers, who had 13 points while Devon Jones had 12.
For Southeastern (0-1), Cameron Hall had 12 points while Aaron Gillum scored seven points.

Leading the team to the win was Levi Gullion with 21 points while Brody Fuller and Chris Chandler each added 13 points.

The Mustangs (2-0) picked up their second win over a Frontier Athletic Conference team in as many days with a two-point win over Washington. Connor Spohn gave the Mustangs the lead for the final time with a game-winning shot.

The Cavaliers (2-0) won their second game in the Zanesville Tip-Off Classic on Saturday, beating Cincinnati Lockland by a 34-point margin.
Chillicothe’s Brandon Noel scored 21 points while Jayvon Maughmer had 13. Tre Beard helped out with 10 points and Joel Barnes added seven.
After the win, Noel was selected as the team MVP of the tournament while Maughmer was named to the All-Tournament team.

Leading Southeastern to the win was Macie Graves, who had 23 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Cidney Huff also helped out, scoring 14 points and adding five rebounds while Skylar Hice totaled 10 points and seven boards.

The Redstreaks (3-0) stayed perfect on the year with a convincing win over Western in non-league action Saturday afternoon.
Piketon was led by Hayleigh Risner with 11 points and 12 rebounds while Bailey Vulgamore had 10 points. Jazz Lamerson also helped out, scoring nine points, and Ally Ritchie added eight points and seven rebounds.
Western (0-1) was led in scoring by Kenzie Ferneau, who accounted for 16 points.
