Southeastern’s Tanner Chenault wins Athlete of the Week honors

Chenault caught four passes for 104 yards in the Panthers' 66-37 win over Adena last Friday.

CHILLICOTHE — After helping his team wrap up an undefeated regular season and a Gold Ball, Southeastern’s Tanner Chenault has also won an Athlete of the Week award.

Chenault helped the Panthers beat Adena by a 66-37 final last Friday while catching four passes for 104 yards and making a significant impact on defense, as usual.

The Gold Ball is Southeastern’s second in the past three seasons.

Out of 2,083 public votes, Chenault accounted for 935 or 44.9 percent of the total. Unioto’s Gabe Lynch finished second in the voting with 777, Wheelersburg’s Mallory Bergan was third with a count of 341, and Jackson’s Jayden Spires was fourth with 30.

Chenault received all four votes from the guys at SOSA as well.

For his efforts, Chenault will receive a a free t-shirt thanks to Mile Tree Screen Printing and a free Wendy’s combo meal via Schmidt Family Restaurant Group.
