CHILLICOTHE — Put simply, opposing hitters are going to have a hard time figuring out how to knock Peytan Robinson out of a ballgame … and that’s true for some time to come.
Over the past two weekends, Robinson has struck out 33 batters in 12 innings while surrendering just two hits and two earned runs. Behind Robinson, the MOJO Chics 10U team won this past weekend’s Logan Tournament — the team’s fourth tourney win in five tries this summer.
Robinson has been named Southern Ohio Sports Authority’s “Athlete of the Week.” In total, she’s struck out 67 batters in her last 28 innings pitched with just three hits and two earned runs against her.
She’s not too bad at the plate either … she’s pounded out 17 hits in her last 31 plate appearances, drawing seven walks and scoring 16 times.
The MOJO Chics 10U team is 36-5-1 overall and have outscored its opponents by a 404-132 margin.
For her efforts this past week, Robinson will receive a free duffel bag from MOJO-USA, a free t-shirt thanks to Mile Tree Screen Printing and a free Wendy’s combo meal via Schmidt Family Restaurant Group.
NOTE: The Athlete of the Week polls will return to the site the week of Aug. 26 … after the first full week of fall sports.
