SOSA Staff Report
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Eleven. Straight. Wins.
And let’s not forget those 11 have come after a 2-7 start.
The Chillicothe Paints (13-7) are in the midst of a double-digit winning streak that has now hit 11 straight with a 3-2 victory over the Terre Haute Rex on Saturday.
Gavin Homer (Penn State) crushed a three-run home run in the top of the third inning, which eventually proved enough for the Paints to win No. 11.
Homer was 2-for-4 on the night with the homer and three RBIs while four other Paints collected base hits — Chris Eisel, Andrew Bacon, Justin McIntyre and Parker Murdie.
Jack Raines (2-1, Baldwin Wallace) earned the win on the mound, throwing 6 2/3 innings, allowing an earned run, and striking out five batters.
Nate Haugh (Toledo) earned the save and struck out three batters over two innings.
The Paints go for a 12th consecutive win on Sunday as they travel to Normal to face the Cornbelters.
