SOSA Staff Report

CHILLICOTHE — For the third straight game, Chillicothe turned in a solid pitching performance Tuesday evening.

After a two-game road trip in Champion City, games they lost 3-2 and 6-4, the Paints (1-4) returned to VA Memorial Stadium and fell to Terre Haute by a 2-1 final … a game they led 1-0 heading into the top of the eighth inning.

Chillicothe’s lone run of the night came in the fourth inning when Gavin Homer (Penn State University) logged an RBI double, scoring Ethan Hajdukovic (Western Michigan University).

That edge stood until the top of the eighth when Terre Haute’s Brett McCleary laced a two-out, two-run single into right-center field. That’s all the REX (3-2) needed to pick up a close road win.

Michael Hubert (Baldwin Wallace University) took the loss on the hill for Chillicothe, allowing a hit, a walk and two earned runs during the eighth.

At the plate, Homer was 2-for-4 with a a double and an RBI while Collin Luty (Northern Kentucky University) finished 2-for-4.

The Paints are back in action Wednesday evening at VA Memorial Stadium, taking on Terre Haute in the second of a four-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
