Southeast District releases all-district baseball squads

The Southeast District released its all-district baseball teams Tuesday afternoon.

CHILLICOTHE — Many local athletes in SOSA’s coverage area learned of all-district honors Tuesday afternoon as the Southeast District released its all-district baseball teams.

NOTE: First-team selections will play in the Southeast District All-Star Game at 2 p.m., June 10 at VA Memorial Stadium.

DIVISIONS I & II

In Divisions I and II, the first-team South selections were highlighted by Zane Trace’s Chad Ison and Cam Farley, Unioto’s Cameron DeBord, and Waverly’s Tucker Tackett and Jackson’s Brice Graham. Area second-team selections include Unioto’s Carson DeBord and Zane Trace’s Lane Larson.

In the North, Hillsboro’s Luke Magulac and McClain’s Eric Anderson are first-team all-district selections while Miami Trace’s Drew Batson and Austin Mathews, Washington’s Ryan Schwartz, and Hillsboro’s Ethan Humphries are second-team honorees.

Area honorable mention selections in Divisions I and II are as follows: Waverly’s Ian Gillen and Trevor Penrod, Hillsboro’s Grant Crum and Jared Thompson, Miami Trace’s Austin Brown, Washington’s Bailey Roberts, McClain’s John Salyers, Evan Hutchinson and Colton Mossbarger, Jackson’s Ty Broemann and Caleb Haller, Zane Trace’s Tanner Congrove and Elliott Lynn, and Unioto’s Nate Keiser and Hayden Longcoy.

Warren’s Ryan Lemley and Circleville’s Brian Bigam were named the Coaches of the Year in Divisions I and II.

DIVISION III

In Division III, Wheelersburg’s Trey Carter, Connor Mullins and Jalen Miller, and Oak Hill’s Bailey Clutters are first-team honorees in the East.

In the West, Paint Valley’s Macky McDonald, Adena’s Ethan Kunkel, Valley’s Tanner Cunningham, Minford’s Elijah Vogelsong and Ethan Lauder, Westfall’s Matt Boemel and Titan Williams, and Piketon’s Kannon Pack are first-team selections.

Earning second-team honors in the West are Paint Valley’s Lane Mettler, Eastern’s Parker Clemmons, Adena’s Roman Long and Zach Fout, Westfall’s Connor Spohn, Minford’s Luke Lindamood and Darius Jordan, West’s Dylan Bradford, Valley’s Jesse Jones.

Area honorable mention selections in Division III are as follows: Oak Hill’s Logan Hines and Hunter Lahrmer, Wheelersburg’s Cole Ratcliff and Athan Temponeras, and Southeastern’s Ike Diehl and Bryce McWhorter, Paint Valley’s Brock Blanton and Bryce Newland, Piketon’s Scott Lightle and Shane Vulgamore, Adena’s Caleb Foglesong and Jarrett Garrison, Valley’s Jared Morrow, Eastern’s Logan Clemmons and Cody Weaver, Northwest’s Bruce South, Minford’s Reid Schultz, Westfall’s Luke Blackburn and Sam Frazier, and West’s duo of Garrett Hurd and Cade Powell.

Minford’s Anthony Knittel and Fairland’s Michael Hill were named the Coaches of the Year in Division III.

DIVISION IV

In Division IV, Clay’s Clay Cottle and Dakota Dodds, Green’s Tayte Carver and Tanner Kimbler, and Huntington’s Elijah McCloskey are first-team honorees in the West while South Webster’s Billy Jones is a first-team selection in the East.

Earning second-team honors are Clay’s Reece Whitley and Jaden Jessee, Green’s Bryce Ponn, Notre Dame’s Ethan Kammer, East’s Tyler Winston, and Huntington’s Gavin Free.

Area honorable mention selections in Division IV are as follows: South Webster’s Jacob Ruth and Brice Robnett, East’s Kyle Winston and Dylan Bailey, Green’s Levi Singleton, Mason Barber and Ed Webb, Huntington’s Seth Beeler, Weston Roop, Devon Carroll and Nate Snyder, and Clay’s Brad McCleese and Shaden Malone.

Southern’s Kyle Wickline and Clay’s Marc Cottle were named the Coaches of the Year in Division IV.
